Why Ant-Man is a Better Sorcerer than Dr. Strange, version 1

Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man, is a better sorcerer than Steven Strange, also known as Doctor Strange. This may seem like a bold claim, considering that Strange is the current Sorcerer Supreme and the master of the mystic arts, while Lang is a former thief and an electronics expert. However, in this essay, I will argue that Lang has shown more potential, creativity and courage in his use of magic than Strange, and that he deserves more recognition and respect for his achievements.

First of all, let us compare the origins of their magical abilities. Strange became a sorcerer after a car accident that damaged his hands and ended his career as a neurosurgeon. He sought out the Ancient One, the previous Sorcerer Supreme, in Kamar-Taj, where he learned the secrets of the mystic arts and eventually inherited the title and the Eye of Agamotto, a powerful relic that contains the Time Stone. Lang became a sorcerer by accident, when he was trapped in the Quantum Realm for five years after the Snap. He managed to escape by using a rat to activate the Quantum Tunnel in Luis' van, and returned to Earth with a newfound ability to manipulate time and space. He then used this ability to help the Avengers devise a plan to reverse the Snap by traveling through time and collecting the Infinity Stones from different points in history.

Secondly, let us examine how they applied their magical skills in various situations. Strange has used his magic to fight against various threats, such as Kaecilius and his zealots, Dormammu and his Dark Dimension, Thanos and his army, and Loki and his schemes. He has also used his magic to help others, such as healing injuries, creating portals, and reversing time. However, Strange has also shown some limitations and flaws in his use of magic. He has been arrogant, reckless, and overconfident, often relying on his own judgment and ignoring the warnings and advice of others. He has also been selfish, secretive, and manipulative, sometimes using his magic for personal gain or deception. For example, he bargained with Dormammu without consulting his fellow sorcerers, he hid the Time Stone from Thanos without telling his allies, and he lied to Thor about Odin's whereabouts. Lang has used his magic to assist the Avengers in their mission to undo the Snap. He has also used his magic to explore the Quantum Realm and its mysteries, such as the Microverse City and Janet van Dyne's evolution. However, Lang has also shown some strengths and virtues in his use of magic. He has been humble, curious, and open-minded, often learning from others and admitting his mistakes. He has also been selfless, loyal, and courageous, sometimes risking his life or sacrificing his happiness for the greater good. For example, he volunteered to test the Quantum Tunnel despite the dangers involved, he gave up his house arrest to join Captain America's team against Thanos, and he agreed to stay behind in the Quantum Realm while Hope van Dyne and her family were dusted.

Thirdly, let us consider how they relate to their mentors and peers in the magical community. Strange has had a complicated relationship with the Ancient One, whom he respected but also challenged and questioned. He has also had a tense relationship with Wong, whom he befriended but also annoyed and disobeyed. He has had a hostile relationship with Mordo, whom he fought alongside but also opposed and betrayed. He has had a competitive relationship with Loki, whom he outsmarted but also provoked and angered. Lang has had a simple relationship with Janet van Dyne
